Beautiful Couple, Beautiful View – Another Look at the Mezzanine!

We debuted our new mezzanine level the other week with much excitement but what we missed was a great shot from up top.

Thanks to our adorable WinMock couple, Heather and Jeremy, we now have this gorgeous shot to share with you!

Meet Heather and Jeremy... here, standing on the mezzanine level in the Loft. Can't wait to see them all decked out this November for their big day.

Seriously, could they be more adorable?! And, what a view!  Just love it…

And yes folks, that is a veil you see on her construction hat.  See more fun “bridal construction tour” pictures here.  Who says construction tours aren’t fun?  Or, maybe it’s just our amazing couples that make it that way!

90 Days Later – A Look At The First Floor

What a difference 90 days makes…Take WinMock’s first floor for example.  The site of our soon-to-be private dining rooms, multiple meeting/breakout rooms, boardroom, private dressing suite, and catering kitchen is really taking shape.  See the progress for yourself!

Here we are in mid-February! Our meeting rooms, dining rooms and foyer are framed out, concrete floor is complete awaiting final flooring to be laid, with electrical and insulation work now underway.

The progress continues… more pictures coming soon!

Barn Event Center Renovation – Weeks Five and Six

The weather has been a little frightful but luckily for us our progress at the old barn remains delightful with new changes occuring each day.

As always, here is your exclusive “blow by blow” report :)

Outdoors…
You may have noticed the barn’s front property taking new shape.  Leveling and grading continues as our main parking lot is well underway.

Grading continues at the front of the property as our new WinMock parking lot takes shape.

The front parking lot will include roughly 100 spaces, with additional parking shared within Kinderton.

The new parking lot will have roughly 100 spaces for WinMock.

Directly across the street is the main entrance for Bermuda Run Country Club.

Over the past two weeks, we have carefully removed all of the barn’s original windows… quite a task!  Today, those that  remain intact are stored in our smaller granary barn on the property in attempt to repair and salvage, or at the very least, duplicate to maintain the barn’s historical integrity.

A little tid bit – We’re fortunate to have a master window craftsman on our renovation team who specializes in repairing and restoring the windows of historic properties.  He has transformed our small granary barn out back into his make-shift window shop and it’s there you can find him working away daily.  His hard work is evident as today we found that window panes were beginning to reappear.

All the original windows were removed to make way for repaired or duplicated replacements.

Taking it indoors, we are happy to report that that our new HVAC and plumbing work is underway ….

HVAC work is now underway at WinMock which will allow the barn to be perfect for all seasons.

We are often asked if the barn will have heating and air conditioning? The answer - YES! Making it perfect year-round for events.

We are also excited to share that one of two elevator shafts is now being constructed in the barn.  This particular elevator will eventually whisk guests up to our stunning Loft ballroom on the second floor.

The first of two elevator shafts is being built this week.

This is the future site of our guest elevator which will be located in the entry foyer.

An additional freight elevator will be added to one of the silos at the back of the barn.

A second freight elevator will be constructed in one of our two silos and will be used by caterers, event rental companies and other vendors.

On the horizon… roof removal!  What a sight that will be! Stay tuned…

Barn Event Center Renovation – Week Four Recap

The temperatures may be dropping but that certainly is not slowing us down at WinMock.  The renovation crew is still busy, busy, busy at the barn making progress each and every day (much to the delight of our 2011 WinMock Wedding couples!)

During our fourth week of renovations, we completed any necessary tree removal (with plans to repurpose some of the lumber into furniture and other items for display in the barn!) and set up protective fencing around all of those that we can.

We are working to protect as many trees as we can during renovation.

Bright tree fencing is now setup to provide protection during renovation.

 We also poured cement in the foyer and meeting spaces;  removed lower level windows to doctor them up and duplicate for historic purposes;

and started breaking down that massive old hay conveyor belt in the upstairs Loft which was donated to a member of the renovation crew to use on his own farm.  We’re dying to see the trailer that is going to move this puppy!

What’s on the punchlist for this week?  Well, we will begin filling in and leveling out the front of the property to start adding curbs for our new parking lot and beginning our initial plumbing work.
Our plans include parking spaces for close to 125. We will have additional parking spaces available that are shared with our neighbors in Kinderton.

Soon to come… The highly anticipated moment when we raise….err, remove the big, red roof!

Stay tuned and stay warm…

WinMock Barn Captured From Above; Future Site of NC Special Event Center

Too cool!  Our talented friends over at Autumn Song Photography just happened to (literally) be flying around town last weekend and were kind enough to snap some amazing shots of the barn for us.

Why do we love these photos so? Well for starters, photographer Rodney Slate captured what we have tirelessly tried to communicate in just one shot.  The expansive size and scale of WinMock!

If you haven’t visited the property, it’s hard to understand  the true size of the barn.  It’s hard to understand how “a barn” could house multiple meeting rooms, two private dining rooms, a large ballroom, catering kitchen, bridal suite, OH and two outdoor terraces.  But, one look at these images explains it all.

This, friends, is not your average barn.  It truly is a magnificent site to see.

Just imagine - the entire length of the rounded red roof encloses a beautiful Loft ballroom.

Thanks again Rodney!
